World Press Photo Winners 2011
Today’s blog is dedicated to the World Press Photo Winners 2010 . The competition is divided into several categories, including Spot News, General News, People In The News and Sports. Every photo highlighted in the competition is excellent, but the overall winning photograph is amazing. The photo was taken by Jodi Bieber for Times Magazine and shows an 18 year old girl, Bibi Aisha, who was disfigured as retribution for fleeing her husband’s house in Afghanistan (having been subjected to extreme violence). At 12 years of age, Aisha and her younger sister had been given to the family of a Taliban fighter, under a tribal custom for settling disputes. Valentine's Day Competition Winner
The winner of our Valentines day competition is MELISSA WASH!
We all love her answer of the most romantic thing that anyone had ever done for her.
Her boyfriend took her to the penguin enclosure at London Zoo (knowing that she loved penguins!), where he had arranged for a dozen red balloons with letters on them asking her to marry him! We’re assuming she said yes!
